Kia India has introduced its flagship all-electric Kia EV9 premium SUV, marking a significant expansion in its electric vehicle portfolio. This top-tier SUV is priced at ₹1.30 crore (ex-showroom) and is available in a single, fully loaded GT-Line AWD 6-seater variant.
The new EV9 comes to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), similar to Kia’s earlier models like the EV6 and the newly launched Kia Carnival, which is priced at ₹63.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Kia EV9 is based on the E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), the same platform that underpins the Kia EV6. However, the EV9’s scalable architecture allows for a 3-row setup, making it a full-size electric SUV. With its 5015mm length, 1980mm width, and 1780mm height, the EV9 boasts a wheelbase of 3100mm, ensuring ample space for passengers and cargo.

Under the hood, the Kia EV9 is powered by a 99.8 kWh battery pack with two electric motors, providing an AWD setup. Together, these motors deliver a combined output of 383 bhp and a staggering 700 Nm of torque. The EV9 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds.
As for its range, the EV9 boasts an ARAI-certified range of 561 km, nearly matching its WLTP-rated range. It also supports DC fast charging, enabling a 10-80% charge in just 24 minutes.
