  1. Affected Models: Brio, Jazz, Amaze, WR-V, BR-V, and City.
  2. Previous Replacements: Includes cars with fuel pumps replaced earlier.
  3. Part Inspection: Honda owners who purchased replacement fuel pumps from 2017 to 2023 should also get their part checked.

Honda Models Impacted by the Recall

The models affected by this recall include:

  • Honda Amaze – 18,851 units
  • Honda Brio – 3,317 units
  • Honda BR-V – 4,386 units

Reason for the Recall of Honda Fuel Pump Issue

According to Honda, the recalled vehicles may have defective fuel pump impellers. A faulty impeller can cause the engine to stop unexpectedly or fail to start, impacting the car’s reliability and safety. Honda is addressing this issue by replacing the defective fuel pump at no cost to the owners.

Recall Schedule and Steps for Affected Owners

The recall process will start on November 5 in a phased manner. Honda will reach out to affected owners directly, but customers can also take action by:

  1. Checking the Honda Website: Visit the Product Update/Recall page in the Service tab on the Honda Cars India website.
  2. VIN Number Check: Enter the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to see if their car is affected.
  3. Fuel Pump Purchasers: Those who bought fuel pumps as spare parts from June 2017 to October 2023 should also get their parts checked.

Previous Recall by Honda

This recall follows a similar action by Honda in 2021 when the company recalled 78,000 vehicles manufactured between 2019 and 2020 for a similar fuel pump issue.

Conclusion

With this latest recall, Honda aims to ensure the safety and reliability of its vehicles on the road. Owners of affected models are encouraged to get their cars checked and ensure their fuel pump is replaced if needed, all at no additional cost.
